Define NLP?

NLP stands for N - Neuro (neurological processes), L - Linguistic (language), P - Programming (behavioural patterns that’ve been learned thru experience)

NLP is a way system or approach to studying how individuals do what they do in their mind and modelling that persons excellence, so it can be copied and then teach it to others via various techniques that come out of the modelling process. That means it is the study of structure of subjective experience. A couple of examples of where this is of use is give up smoking hypnosis, bing eating or individual doing drugs. After you’ve studied how people do this, you may then infer how others do the same thing roughly, as an example the majority of these behaviours will involve feeling bad feelings that trigger the behaviour, eliminating the feelings will remove the trigger and therefor the behaviour mostly.

To further explain this with an example in the beginning Richard Bandler made a decision to work out how to help individuals who are suffering from a phobia! So he started advertising in the paper asking for individuals to make contact with him who have had a phobia, which they also got over it and don’t have it anymore. This gathered to Richard many people who had various different types of phobic disorder and he relates how all of these individuals told him more or less the same thing.

Richard said to them well you had a phobia, so how did you get over it? And all of them said approximately a similar thing. It always started with them saying, “after many years of this I got fed up with it, thats it I cant take it anymore” that was the straw that broke the camels back. They then said “I looked at myself and saw how foolish it was to be fearful looking at myself from across the room”.

So what they did was disassociated from the image in their mind which means instead of seeing through their own eyes, you see your self in the image essentially stepping out of the film and watching it from a far. Thru doing this you cannot feel how you used to about the situation and the behavior vanishes.

So once this info was gathered a method was created to replicate what these individuals did, then it was applied to people who had a phobia! What we do is teaching the subconscious of these individuals how to change the way in which they think to stop them doing the phobia! It works quickly and permanently. I use it all the time with my clients and then I tell them to go out and do the thing that used to cause the problem.

NLP is so very much more than this and it’s really difficult to explain simply and succinctly, the way I customarily describe it is NLP is the study of the mind and feelings to work out how you construct your reality or map of reality and how does one do what you do. After you know this you may then start to change how you consider, feel at a subconscious level to modify the way in which you behave, believe and feel! From this you change your behaviors to obtain what it is in your life that you really want.

NLP is the pursuit of excellence!
