Using NLP to help in improving your productiveness
We've all got days where we just don’t feel 100%, we do not know why but we do know that today is just going to be one of those unproductive and dissatisfying days. With NLP, you can turn this around.
If you simply accept it as ‘one of those days ‘ and wait for tomorrow to start, you are teetering over what is known in the NLP world as the ‘Cause versus Effect ‘ line, and allowing glimpses of ‘Effect ‘ to take over your day.
When you're on the ‘Effect ‘ side of the equation, you are permitting other considerations to take over and rule your productiveness. The majority of our society is brought up to think ‘Effect ‘ - there is always a reason why something cannot be done or why something isn't working out as it should. It is also called the blame factor. If you embrace the NLP way of thinking nevertheless you can only be on the ‘Cause ‘ side - only you can control and dictate what occurs. So when you have one of those under par days, by shifting to ‘Cause ‘, you'll enable yourself to snap out of it and get on with it. Simpler said than done I know - in reality society always tells us to ‘be positive ‘ - but it doesn't basically let us know how. This is where the ‘N ‘ of NLP comes in, the ‘how to ‘ of being at ‘Cause ‘, which is the ultimate state of productivity.
‘Whether you think that you can or you think you can’t, you are most likely right. ‘
Henry Ford’s classic quote sums up the ‘Cause versus Effect ‘ speculation extraordinarily aptly, and one quick exercise you can do to get yourself back into ‘Cause ‘ is as follows:
Think about what state it's that you would rather be in, as an example, would you prefer to be feeling absolutely capable, completely potent, fully successful, totally motivated or fully unambiguous? It could be a combination of positive states, so just choose the ones you would like and go back to prior times during the past where you felt those positive states. Get dunked into your memories and really see, hear and feel how it felt to have once been in those positive states.
Repeat this and recall as many times as you need to till you're feeling a shift inside yourself and harness those new states - you'll get yourself into ‘Cause ‘ and march forth into your now extremely productive and successful day! This is actually a glimpse into a wonderfully empowering NLP technique called anchoring, which permits you to control your internal state by accessing past, positive and ingenious states, and thus remain at ‘Cause ‘ during each day.
